Source: FIP rulebook, revision 01.01.2026.

What is a net on the padel serve?

The service is a “net” if:

  • a) The ball touches the net or the posts and then lands in the receiver’s service area, provided it does not touch the metal mesh before the second bounce
  • b) The ball, after touching the net or the posts, strikes any opponent or article they are carrying

What is a let on the padel serve?

The service is replayed (a “let”) if:

  • a) It is played when the receiver is not ready (as per Rule 6, point 10)

How many serves are replayed after a let or a net?

  • If the let or net occurs on the first service: the whole point is replayed and the server is entitled to two services.
  • If the net or let occurs on the second service: only the second service is replayed.
